Greenhouses today switch to more energy effective light sources and as a consequence there will be a need for additional heating. The company is looking for a partner, Greenhouse operator or builder, to develop the technology.

The environmental footprint and the cost of heating buildings in the world are huge.
The energy usage for heating can be considerably lowered by using a system that stores thermal energy in the form of heat. For greenhouses, that today are switching to low energy illumination, like LED (Light Emitting Diodes), there will be a need for additional heating during cold periods and this energy should preferably be from sustainable sources and low cost.
The company has developed an active solar energy storage system, under patenting, using solar collectors in combination with a ground heat pump, using a combination of an accumulator tank and a specially designed ground storage for energy storing. This technology should be ideally suited for greenhouses,that have a huge need for energy efficient solutions.

Aspects innovants

The heat energy generated from the solar collectors is stored in an accumulator tank and a specially designed ground heat storage. The heat from the ground storage is used to heat up the greenhouse during the cold period with the aid of a heat pump whilst the heat in the accumulator tank is used for producing temperate irrigation water. This combination results in a greenhouse with an extremely low energy consumption and with the possibility to optimize the climate conditions.
This technical solution gives large freedom for functional design, since the storage media is located under the building and still maintains extreme energy efficiency.
Low additional investment costs.
The technology will give the potential to lower the energy costs to 10-15 % of normal, evaluated by independent testing body.
The technology can also be used to cool the greenhouse during warm periods.
